Candied onions, a simple homemade recipe!
A sweet touch to accompany a dish, a mixed salad, potatoes, rice…
Onions cooked gently at low temperature…
- 5 onions
- 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
- 2 tablespoons maple syrup
- 1 tablespoon umebosis or soy sauce
Kitchen utensils used : Steamer
Put in a thick-bottomed stewpot (for cooking without fat) and cook on medium heat for about 10 minutes until the onions become translucent.
After 10 minutes, stop cooking and let the onions cool in the stewpot, covered by the lid.
When the onions have cooled, add balsamic vinegar, maple syrup and umebosis and let marinate in the fridge.
